Can anyone tell me about the Megawave MTV-1A antenna http://www.megawave.com.

I visited http://www.titantv.com and based on my location this is the antenna it recommends.

I have a MITS ws-65611 TV and currently have a Jensen indoor ant. which does not work that good and I cannot get NBC.

I would be reluctant to purchase this antenna unless I knew it was easily returnable for a complete refund.

Traditionally, indoor antennae are not very good for holding a digital signal. Building materials and movement in the room will and do cause dropouts. (This is even mentioned in a roundabout way on the Megawave site).

If you are adamant about using an indoor antenna, most folks have been happy and successful using the infamous Radio Shack Double Bowtie (discontinued, but can be found for $1.97 if a R/S near you have them) or the Silver Sensor (found at Sears or Circuit City approx $40).

Obviously, outdoor antennae will provide the best results. Also, an outdoor antenna mounted in the attic can be adequate.

hey man I had the same problem, in my neighborhood the HOA doesn't let me have an outdoor antenna so I check 5 different models of indoors including the silver sensor, The one I found to be the best is:JENSEN TV-930 Compatible Dual Amplified VHF/UHF/FM Antenna cost me $59 at besbuy you can find it cheaper on the net aroung 35 + shpng sp it cost the same.I saw the superbowl with that in HD.

That is what I had, the JENSEN TV-930. It just gave me a few channels.

Just contacted my local Sound Advice about an antenna and they recommended the TERKS TV35 as an indoor solution $119.00 I found them on Yahoo for about $60.00. My questions are this:

Can I mount this antenna in the attic (it only weighs 2.5LBS) www.terk.com say's it is an outdoor ANT?

Can I use diplexers with my current RG6 cable to connect this to my MITS ws-65511?


I did just located the infamous Radio Shack Double Bowtie about 25 miles away for $2.97 at a Radio Shack. I plan on picking it up on 02/02/03 I will keep you posted on the results.

I can't believe how great the HD quality is. I am becoming obsessed with finding the PERFECT solution.

The Terk 35 looks like it may be feasible. I see that it's VHF also.
If you do not need VHF reception, you may want to consider the R/S 15-2160

For $22.00 and more elements (better capture), it may be better and if it doesn't work... easier to return! Give a try...

Thanks for that info. I do however need VHF as well. What about using diplexers with my current RG6 cable to connect this to my MITS ws-65511? Is that what you did?

I have no need for diplexers as I do not have satellite.
I just ran a straight run from the attic to my TV. But, yeah a diplexer will work of you have satellite (it will not work with cable TV).

BTW... if your VHF towers are close by, you may be able to get away with the UHF only antenna, especially if your VHF channels at in the higher range.

I don't have any digital channels in the VHF range, but I get pretty good reception on the analogs with my antenna.

Well, I picked up my Radio Shack Double Bowtie for a whopping $2.97 today and it is much better then the Jensen TV-930 for $50.00 I am able to pick up few more channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, UPN, PBS, MORE32) AND 1 OR 2 OTHERS.

I still can't seem to get NBC. I just may buy the TV35 this week.

I am just concerned about running the RG6 through the attic and down the wall since I cannot use diplexers through cable tv RG6. Only SAT.
