Can anyone tell me the difference between the two, other than the front loadin of the card on the hd300. I have the hd200 and want another so I figured the hd300 would be the best choice since it's the latest model.

No one using these boxes anymore or what? Well I went a head and bought the hd300, guess I post up anything I notice. Well other than the guide reverting back that I read about.

The HD300 is two generations old though it is a good box. It's actually made by LG and is mechnically the same as the LG 3200A and Hughes HTL-HD. Personally if it was me and I wasn't worried about extending my D* contract, I'd see if I can get a free H20 and 5 LNB dish install out of them instead of buying old technology. When the new stations go live on the 2 new sats going up later this year, you'll need to upgrade anyway.

I thought it was a samsung box not LG? Anyway I shelled out for the old SAT HD 100 years ago and even though it burnt up I liked the 200 I replaced it with.
I don't use the 200 or plan to use the 300 for HD channels from direct tv. I only watch HD on terrestrial broadcasts. But what about this new stations?? and having to upgrade? Is that for any Direct TV programming or just HD channels?
