the RCA is a good set. A lot of people talk down RCA simply as part of the snob factor. Granted it would be nice if the set had a flat as opposed to curved screen but the price is very attractive as is the build quality snobs be damnned.

We had considered the 36120 because it would fit into our living room entertainment center. But, when my wife said we could re-decorate the family room, I immediately turned my attention to the RCA 38310.

It is a full HDTV with the DTC100 and a DirecTV receiver built in. It is 38" 16x9 widescreen and is very easy to operate. The image quality is excellent and it is not that much more than the 36".

We got ours at a Circuit City for $2100 (lists in store for $2499), but I have since found out that the store cost is around $1700. This set has been offered on eBay, as a "buy it now" for $1749 plus shipping.

If you can exchange your set for this one, and negotiate a decent price, you could be enjoying HD immediately. We get OTA HD channels in Detroit with a rabbit ear antenna and 2 additional channels of HD via a DirecTV satellite dish.

Just something to think about. Best of luck.
