If I was going to buy the $700 32" Vizio, what else do I need to buy with it? Is it necessary to get some kind of waranty? What about cables? I would need to go the cheap route on those because $700 is pushing it as it it, but I don't want the TV to break a week later and be screwed.

In regard to extended warranties... there's a FAQ you can read.

If the TV "fails" in a week... it should be already covered under the manufacturers warranty.

Cables? Get the ones you need depending of the devices you are connecting. www.monoprice.com has good products at a good price (as you probably have already read here many times).

It says some credit cards give warranties? I could find anything on the Mastercard or Visa websites? Do you know what kind of credit cards do that?

Call your CC company to find out exactly what YOUR card/lender provides.

Monoprice.com

If you buy monster cable or other brand over priced cable you are wasting your money.

Are prices still significantly coming down on TV's like they did the last year or are they about bottomed out?

Prices always drop on "older" models. Prices are usually always higher with "newer" models. By the time you wait for a "bottom out" on a particular TV... you'll want a "better/newer" model with more features/funtionality.
