I'm looking for a flat screen CRT that's preferably black/dark gray to match everything else. Here's what I've found, but not all of them are black. I also can only buy from retail stores so online is not an option.

These are the old non-LCD TVs, this is why they are so cheap.

If you're looking for a decent CRT TV... then IMO, forget about any SDTV. Also, I wouldn't buy Insignia, so that leaves only one from your "picks".

And earthworm: At the this size, CRT should provide a better PQ over LCD in many respects.

I own an Insignia & I would say to stay away from them. Too many problems. I'm on my 2nd one & Best Buy may be exchanging another one due to a intermittent purple spot in the lower left corner of the screen.

Thanks for the info everyone. I saw this today at CC and decided to read up about it. It's a little more then I wanted to spend, but it has nice reviews and my mom likes it. What do you think?

Comp USA had the 3 series TV for 500. Good Tv for those not overly critical about PQ. It can be setup in minutes with a good picture.

Probably this has been discussed often..

If a man wishes to not pay the HD preminum; then he would be as well off if not better in sticking with the old CRT - in a 26 or 27" size....am I right ???
My cable bill is now at $97.. On a fixed income I must contain costs..
Maybe 5 years from now when HD really becomes affordable...and is universal....

Too bad no Comp stores are close to me. I went to CC Monday and they had to order one so I'm still waiting.

I canceled the order with CC because they were taking too long and Kmart had the same TV on sale for $500. So I had a friend run to Kmart yesterday to pick it up for me. Anyway nice TV but my only gripe is how the speakers drop out when a sudden loud sound is on screen. I hoping there's a simple fix for it or else I'll end up using an external speaker set.
