While watching ABC in HD, the network logo is always cut off. I realize I'm really not losing much image, but it's still enough to bother me.

Instead of looking like this

My TV always looks like this

My model is an RCA CRT. Not really worth the money to be calibrated professionally. Is there anything I can do myself to fix this?

Looks like overscan. My Samsung CRT TV did this. I went into the service menu on the TV and adjusted the X-axis and I have been able to correct the problem some what.
Someone with an RCA HDTV may be able to help you better.

It's normal for CRTs to have more overscan than fixed pixel displays. You can measure the overscan with a Setup DVD as discussed in the HDTV FAQ "What you need to do to your new HDTV".

If you want to venture into the service menu, see the FAQ on Service Codes, but heed the warnings.

The setting is often called something like H-size, or similar. Do not set the overscan at less than 2% though.
