Headphones; wireless or wired ??

I must watch TV using the headphones, no choice, once a man becomes used to them, there is no discomfort and the sound is excellent...
And this works well with the now old Panasonic CRT with the headphone plug in up front..
But now the LCD time has come, and the phones connection has become a problem.
I could upgrade to wireless, but it is not clear if I can still control the volume with the remote ; all the audio must go to the headphones.
Are there any head phone users here ?
Panasonic and Samsung seem to be the only ones with the head speakers outlet..

Not to worry about a designated "headphone" output on the TV. Many of these devices connect to the "variable audio" output of the TV that can be controlled.
