hi, im new here, im 17 and my dads into big HDTVs and loud hometheater systems, we got our tv almost 4 years ago, and our surround sound system 3 years ago
my tv is :
RCA D52W20 52inch widescreen 1080i HDTV
surround sound is
Sony DAV-C450 (500 watts)
i have a sony ps2 with red yellow white outputs, im wondering if i connect my ps2 to my hdtv if it will damage my tv or not, and i never keep it paused for more then 45 seconds :D , i plan on hooking up the sound to my surround sound system, will the ps2 damage my tv??? i really dont want to get my ass kicked by my dad.

Connecting to the TV using red/white/yellow will not damage the TV.
Before connecting, ask for your Dad's permission first or he will kick your ass. ;)

Pausing for 45 secs won't cause problems. Playing games for long times with static images on them can cause burn in on a CRT or plasma based set.
Check the FAQs on burn in - http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=6821

Just FYI, if you want a better picture on the TV for the PS2 you may consider purchasing the PS2 component video cables. These have the red green and blue RCA cables for video, and red and white for audio all in one.
Since the PS2 does not do HD, you would not need to worry if your component video inputs on your TV are HD compatible.

ok new problem here, i have a computer with a high definition 7800 GT nvidia video card that supportts up to 1080i HD, it has DVI and has adapters for a output for yellow video, s-video, component(RBG) and dual DVI outputs, my tv
RCA-D52W20 has DVI input at the back, i tried connecting my computer to my tv, but for some reason it wont switch to high definition and it keeps stuttereing ( refreshing too slowly) , and it wont activate hd for some odd reason, all my drivers on my computer are updated but the dam thing just wont work. anyone else try using this method of computer -DVI- TV ??
