Anyone have / use a scaler?

I would like to consider a DVDO iScan, but I am confused.

I am reading on this board that you should hook your SD channels directly to the TV because the cable box signal is sometimes not as good.

Seems like if I ran the cable box to the DVDO - it would just be a case of garbage in / garbage out.

Thoughts?

Hi, I have a DVDO iScan+(with 1080i) and it given me great sastisfaction, with dvd & video hooked in with a input signal up to 480i giving an outlet at 1080i. I got only one problem to set the correct resolution for my hdtv(1600*1080i) in advance setting.(it running well with basic setting). So if a video signal is ok, i'm sure it will do the same with tv signal. Are you aware there are receiver with video processor built-in , Reon*(Onkyo), it outrank faroudja.
