I live 25 miles north of SF, and have been receiving broadcasts signals 31 digital channels, but now one strong station (5 channels) is gone.
I've been away for a couple of weeks and now find that I cannot receive
DIGITAL broadcasts from KQED, although I do receive its analog signal and
the DIGITAL broadcast signals from other stations (channels: 2, 5, 7, 11,
20, 14, 32, 43).
Out of the box, my new digital TV produced 31 digital channels from my old roof antenna. The strongest and best were KQED's 5 digital channels. I never had moment's problem with its digital signal, although some other digital channels (weak?) did occasionally pixilate .
Apparently, during my two week absence, something happened--the station reported by phone that they had problems with their PSIP which could affect my signal lock. Now I receive only 26 digital channels, not including KQED. I followed the advice of the TV manufacturer and unplugged the TV, removed the antenna, waited, and rescanned. The rescan produced no channels at all (as expected). Next I tuned off the TV, attached the antenna, and after 5PM rescanned. The rescan produced 26 digital channels (and of course KQED's analog channel, but not its 5 digital channels).
I am a novice, but I think that my TV's tuner is validated and that its software is also validated. The problem, to me seems to be either some new antenna problem (although nothing seems to have changed), or there is a problem with the station's signal.
What do I do next?
