Hello guys,
I just noticed there was a backlight intensity value in the service mode of my LCD-TV. This one ranges from 0 to 255 and the original value was set to 150 or so. I wonder if I could enhance the quality of the picture by increasing this value to the maximum. The 255 value is effectively brighter, but I wonder if the picture would really benefit of it (better contrast etc ..) and also if pushing it to the maximum may not damage my device or reduce its life time.

Thanks for the help, I really enjoy reading this forum :=)

Since you don't state the make/model number of your TV, it makes it difficult to solicit information/experiences from other owners. ;)

OTOH, you can try adjusting the value(s) and find out. I personally don't think it will make the "quality of the picture' better. All it will probably do is make the picture "brighter" with a direct effect on the black (brightness) and white (contast) levels... good or bad.

Proper adjustment will require the use of a setup disc such as Avia, DVE or something similar.

Thank you for the answer Ratman. My tv set is a Hoher 32 LX300 wich a complete unknown german brand that I bought in France. I'm sure that no one has heard of this before lol. I could find the service mode because the code seems to be the same that for mitsubishi panels.
