I bought this 26-inch LCD from Best Buy yesterday for $600. It's my first HDTV. I'm quite pleased with it except the audio sync. It's connected to my Comcast digital cable box via component video/LR audio cables and to my (outdated) Sony DVD via composite video/LR audio cables. The audio sync behaves the same for both inputs: When first turned on, the audio sync is bang on (or at least from what I can see). However, it gradually degrades so that after 20 minutes or so, the video is perceptibly ahead of the audio. If I turn the TV off and then back on, the sync is okay again, but will begin to degrade again. I have to assume it's a TV issue. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

Certainly sounds like a TV issue if it happens for both sources. Just as an FYI, here's a summary of causes, but I'd suspect the TV in your case.

You may need to return the TV.

I've contacted Westinghouse and they stated that this is a known issue and that their engineers are working on it. Through trial and error, I've determined that it is also possible to get the audio to resynch just by changing the input. For example, I use the YPbPr1, and when the audio gets off-sync noticably, I switch to another input (PC, Video, whatever) and back - that takes a lot less time than turning off and on.
Otherwise, I'm very please with the set, and I for one am going to give Westinghouse a month or two to get this worked out. If nothing happens by then, I'll likely take it back when there's a good sale on something else at Best Buy!

amccarl,
Did Westinghouse say what they intend to do for customers who have bought these sets? Best Buy's return policy is 30 days, so I'm leaning toward returning it. Actually, I've already exchanged the first set I bought for another of the same model -- it does the same thing.

Westinghouse told me that they would be contacting registered users when the engineers had a fix for the problem.
I'm still waiting, but the clock is definitely ticking......
