I would prefer to use something in my attic or indoors (if can be hidden) but am not opposed to outdoor. Picture quality will be the ultimate determining factor.

Also, my current setup is a 5 LNB Directv that I run into 3 receivers and then through a Channel Vision RF modulator that is distributed to a number of TVs in the house. Can I use the RF modulator to distribute the OTA signal in combination with my DTV signal as well? If yes, how can this be done?

Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions.

Are you interested in digitals only... or both analog and digital?

Detroit, Toledo or both?

primarily digital (HD) but am not opposed to both ;)

UHF is basically line of sight. Even foliage on the trees will reduce the signal.

Although any obstuctions can impair reception, we haven't gotten to that point yet.

Anyway...
If you want it all, you should consider this antenna (or something similar) with a rotor, mounted on the roof.

You reference "this type of antenna" but I don't see what "this" is? Do you have a make/model number?

You may "get away" with this:

With digital channels, you do not have to worry about picture quality. If there is a weak signal, you may get digital break up on occasion, but usually the picture is there or it is not.
