I'm so frustrated right now. Ok. So I got my Xbox 360 all ready and I take out the Component HD Cables from out of the box (red, blue, and green) and I connect them to the corresponding inputs on the back of my Mitsubishi 1080i WS-65819. I power up my Xbox and navigate the inputs until I get to the Dashboard. I really want to experience those HD graphics, so I go to the display menu and go to the resolution menu or whatever. I go down and click on the 1080i selection, which my TV says it supports (on the front of the TV set it says "Mitsubishi Medallion 1080 Series") so I expect it supports it. Anyway, when I click on the 1080 selection, the TV screen has all these lines on the screen and looks like it says something, but I cannot make out what it is. If I just wait and sit at the screen, the lines go off and the selection page comes on and it says "current selection: 420p". So I click on the 1080 selection again and the lines come up again and I start clicking around it it takes me to different looking and colored screens with weird lines on them and I click stuff a few more times (i still cannot make out what I am clicking on, but I can make out selections) and finally I think I hit a breaking point when I can read again and a little side menu comes up and says something like " the display selection has been changed, would you like to keep these settings?" and I say "yes". For about literally 1 second the same resolution selection screen pops up and says that my current display is at 1080i. YESSSSS!!! NOOOOOO!!! The screen then just goes right away and the old thing comes back up saying that the current selection is 420p. I have tried this over and over again ad the same thing keeps happening. Anyone know what I should do? Does anyone else have a Mit ws-65819 and an Xbox and could tell me the secret? Anyone know anything I could do? HELP ME PLEASE?????!!!!

p.s-Sorry for making this so long, but I was just trying to be clear. :)

Any Help is Greatly Appreciated

The component video inputs on the back of this TV seem to be limited to 480i/p. Check the specs and your operating manual. See the link below:

http://www.avguide.com/products/product-824/

Plus, dual progressive scan (480p)/interlaced (480i) component video inputs

Thanks 57U for pointing this out.
Alright so I checked the panel diagram in my manual and it says that under the "component" connectors it only has 480 ( which is where I was connecting it). But, it DOES say that it supports 1080i under the "DTV" section (section 7). Can I connect my HD cables to these inputs and get 1080i? Do I need to set my TV to "DTV" if so, HOW?

Heres the link to the diagram I am looking at. Scroll to page 13.

On page 20, it talks about connections to DTV. On page 31 it talks about the input assignment, where you should set the DTV to YPbPr (component video). It may currently be set to RGB or off.

papageorgio,
As the owner of a WS-55807 (but NOT an XBox user), I would say to be sure your component cable (R/B/G) is connected to the DTV 1080i input on the back of your set ...at
DTV (YPrPb/GRBHV)
480i / 480p / 1080i
(see illustration at page 22 of the Owner's Manual link you posted)
but, it looks like according to what you say, you've already done this.
"...(red, blue, and green) and I connect them to the corresponding inputs
on the back of my Mitsubishi 1080i WS-65819."

then, like 57U suggests, verify your Input Assignments:
On your Remote, go to Menu>Setup>Input Assignments
and make sure the DTV is set at YPrPb and NOT "RBG".
and then set the "Input" on the Remote to "DTV" for your XBox display.
This should then give you the 1080i resolution.

:)
