I turned the TV this morning and noted that the left side of the screen is distorted, I proceeded to the advance convergence adjustment, the vertical green color lines appear distorted (bended toward the c :sightv: enter of the screen). The red and blue appear OK. The TV is about 5 yr old and I really like the quality of the image. I have an external HD tuner and I love the image. Any ideas where can I start looking, I am kind of handy with electronics. Would this be as simple as changing a circuit board. Please any help would be appreciate it! Thanks JP :sightv:

Just from my experience from the advice I've seen others given with similar problems, you might be having a problem with either your Convergence Generator Module or the Convergence IC's.
For now, until one of our expert Mits techs chimes in, go to Search and enter convergence IC's and search the Mitsubishi Forum and check out those threads.
Our Moderator, Ratman, will often reference this thread:
http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=28929
that, even though it's in the Hitachi Forum, it states...
"If you have a CRT-based RPTV brand other than Hitachi, the fix will very likely be very similar, with only the model of the STKs and the resistors being different."
Good luck!

It is very unlikely that the convergence generator is the problem. These units almost always have bad solder joints on the output ICs. I rarely have to actually change an output on this model. Wiggle the heat sink and see if it comes back in. If so, just resolder and get on with watching.

How do I proceed? By the look of the cabinet, the access is thru the back. Does the circuit board unit slide out the cabinet? Any guidance will be greatly appreciate it! Thanks JP
