I get hdnet via direct-tv...most of the programing seems to be coming in as prologic...is that what you guys are getting also?
There is a post in the FAQ section on the home page that shows what's available in DD5.1. Most programming is still DD2.0, which, when processed by receivers into surround sound, yields Dolby Pro Logic, but only really when encoded as pro-logic. Sometimes it's simply "stereo" or "mono" sound that'll mostly come out the center speaker.

Did anybody catch HDNet's spring break special from Daytona?
The sound was coming predominantly from the right channel for the entire thing. What was up with that? (The ad breaks didn't suffer from this problem.) Switching optical output between Dolby and PCM 2 channel made no difference - it was still panned right for the entire thing (both days).

P.S. Thanks for the link on the FAQ page!
This happens occasionally. I once tuned to ABC after they just started DD5.1 and the sound came from the left rear for an entire show (I switched to another format or station).
Feel free to call/e-mail the station when this happens. It's either their fault or the fault of the network, either way the message should be heard. It's probably not the fault of the service provider, since they usually just "pass the signal".
