Check the link:
HDMI Cables (http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=013518&cid=CA.664)

I'm buying an HDMI cable so I can properly use my Samsung DVD 1080P7 upconverting player. But there are so many price ranges and brands that is keeping me from buying these cables today!

What do you guys think of the cable mentioned above? Any recommendations? That store also has no-name cables that don't even come in a box.

As has been discussed here many times, you can purchase HDMI cables from Computer stores for about $15-20 and they will be just fine. If you wish, you can purchase them from online stores like Monoprice for even less.

the most ridiculously low price I've ever seen for HDMI cables is tendonusa

1 cable = $20

2 cables = $16

LOL

Well that's for 16.4 feet. Most people probably don't need them that long. However, monoprice sells a 15 foot HDMI cable for for $6.52.

Make sure that 1m is long enough. It''ll work just fine. You may want to consider a 2m cable instead - provides a bit more flexibility in component placement and future proofing.

If you're ordering on-line, consider:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024004&p_id=2412&seq=1&format=2 (looks like a special price today of under $3 - I just ordered 4 of them for my small business)

Just thought I'd chime in on this one. I recently got a new HD cable box from the cable company and a PS3. I asked the cable man to leave me 2 HDMI cables so he gave me two brand new ones in the bag. Then I went to Best Buy and the guy says I need to buy this 800 series $129 Monster Cable becuase it transmits 4.5 Gbs of data which is good for watching Blu Ray movies. So I bought it. Then I compared the Monster HDMI cable with the Cable companies HDMI cable on both my PS3 and HD Cable Box. No visible difference and I am pretty anal about PQ. So I took that $129 cable back to best buy and am happy with my 2 free HDMI cables from the cable company. Nuff said.

Here's the Monster HDMI cable: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8473476&type=product&id=1188558641997

You never should have bought the Monster cable to begin with.

Monster has so many meanings, and with this company, they are moving toward a traditional meaning of monster. Certainly, they are over priced and over-hyped. Caveat emptor. (Let the buyer beware.)
