Hi,I've changed to HD buying a Pace 551P Terminal from Videotron. Here is my problem : 9 out of 10 times I can't record to my DVD Recorder (Samsung DVD-R160)because
I'll get the message >Can't record copy-protected Signal.<
Please note thsi is regardless of the channnels ,Hd or not even the Weatherchannel . :sightv: After resetting the terminal I'm usually able to record. When I then playback the recording and wanna go back to recording the same message appears and It prevents me to record again.
I've called videotron several times but they can't help me.
I've never had this problem before with my Ilico terminal.
Anyone knows what my problem could be.?
Thanks for any help. :headb: :sightv:

The issue comes up due to a CGMS-a signal getting to your DVD recorder. See the following thread. CGMS-a prevents recording of analogue material on DVD recorders. This should really only affect certain material (usually premium movies), however, some STBs and some DVD recorders have problems with this.

The only reliable way around this is with a "video stabilizer", which strips the CGMS-a signal from the video signal from the STB. Be aware that these stabilizers may also strip Closed Captioning and Descriptive Video.

The other terminal you had many not have passed the CGMS-a signal. You may wish to consider trying another terminal, like the SA3250HD, or consider the SA8300HD PVR, which will record in HD internally and these problems don't arise internally, only to an external device.
