View Full Version : xbox dvd vs. ps2 dvd

I have a Panasonic 51" HDTV with an xbox and ps2 both component to the TV. When I play dvds in the xbox there are noticeable lines running vertically across the picture. On the ps2, however, there are no lines and a pretty decent picture (thanks to avia). Anyone else with both machines notice this at all?

yeah i have both systems plus a Denon, but I don't see any lines... (Check your cables)
Comparing quality between xbox and ps2, xbox gets it for dvd quality, user interface and gaming....out.

For DVD playback they are both horrible. I really don't notice a difference between them. I even updated my PS2 DVD driver. It didn't make much of a difference, it still gets the 'unreadable' error when transitioning between layers on a multilayer DVD.
Use game consoles to play games, treat yourself to a nice Progressive scan DVD player. It makes all the difference in the world.
