hi.. im a noob here
need advise whether is it worth to buy a projection tv KF-50E200A 50 inch 3LCD Projection TV (http://www.sonystyle.com.my/product/productinfo_wega.asp?Subcategoryid=31)

the thing is, when i visited my local sony retailer, i was advised not to buy projection tv as the technology is going to be phased out

the price for this item is definitely worth it.. i have looking for review around the internet, i think projection PQ is very good n worth it based on the size/price

my concern are
- technical support (repair / parts)
- the bulb (change out frequency?)
- production year of this model
- how long for a model to have a support from the manufacturer? (in general)

Repairs is no problem. Most people keep TVs for along time.
Bulb is rated at about 8K but life can be effected by many different things. Usually though a good 18 months to 24 months. Some even longer depending on use and enviroment.
I believe that model was 2006.
Warranty is what ever Sony has on it.

The SXRD models like that are some of the top rated TV's on market reguardless of technology. You won't hear to many people complain about the picture quality of a SXRD. I say go for it if the price is right for you.

isnt SXRD is a newer model in sony lineup? the above model that i have mentioned only categorized as projection in their website. SXRD lineup is the latest one, which are more expensive

btw, what are the different between SXRD and rear projection?

SXRD is rear projection, but it's a different type - Sony's marketing name for - LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) instead of LCD or DLP. See:
