I had Fixed/variable audio output ( RCA phono x 2 ) - Rear connected to my receiver's analog audio input and it worked fine. Now I bought a TOSLINK optical cable and connected it to the TOSLINK audio out port on the back of my Sony to the correspondent optical input on my receiver but no sound can be heard. I check the cable and it seems to be OK (there is light on the other end of the cable while one end is connected to my TV). I tried to use fixed/variable setting on the audio tab of TV but nothing works. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
