View Full Version : Element "Program Blocked" Message on Element FLX-1910
I keep getting a "Program Blocked" message on my Element HDTV. I have not programmed it to block any programs and the message only lasts 1 second but it seems to be popping up with greater frequency, Any ideas of what to do? I can never get anything other than a busy signal or an "office closed" message at the Element support number.
Thanks.

A little insight as to how you get your programming would be helpful.
I assume "cable".
Directly connected from wall?
Using a cable box?
Analog or digital channels?
Is your cable provider "moving" channels and encrypting?
Have you tried unlugging the TV/cable box from power and rescanning for channels?
It is on Cable but from the wall not a box. They are analog channels. I will try rescanning. Thanks for the tips.

I have the 15 inch Element HDTV and also have the same problem. This is the second TV for me I returned the frist one, thinking that there was something wrong with the set. Mine is running from the cable directly from the wall. It has been rescanned. I will be returning this one tomorrow and applying a little more money to purchase something else. I guess I got what I paid for.

I was almost happy to see others have the "program blocked" problem. I have found this TV very unsatisfactory. The blocked message happens more frequently, the chanels change unbelievably slow, and I have tried everything--thinking it was the the cable problem.

Yeah, I just came home yesterday with this TV and was experiencing the Program Blocked. Very annoying. No other TV in the house does this and neither did the prior tv in the room that I placed this Element TV.
Also, there seems to be problems with getting a good reading of the channels. Some channels have light ghosting.
I settled for this one because it was under 19 inch but should have spent the extra $60 - 100 and got another 19 inch Samsung or LG or Magnovox which I have not been disappointed with (other tvs in my house).
Element is going back to its original home (the store).

I had the same problem with my FLX-1910 and looked through the manual which was of no help. I tried checking the ElementElectronics.com website which also was of no help. l telephoned Customer Service numerous times but the hold time was too long. Finally I decided to hold as long as it took and glad i did. Seems there are submenus in the setup menu once you put your password in. The technician asked me to set "system lock" to off and so far so good. Call it may be worth it! 1-888-238-8123

I am also having the same problem... and my other issue is that I am in college and have no land-line and can't afford to wait it out long enough to get someone from Element on the phone (I would use up all of my minutes for the month before they pick up). So my question is, does anyone have specific ways of how Element told them to fix this issue. I wasn't aware that I could put in a password, where would I access that? I would appreciate any and all help! Though the issue isn't a huge one it's frustrating to say the least that I cannot figure out how to get it to stop. Thanks!

I found the menu and the default password:
Click Menu --> go to 'setup' tab --> go to 'Parental' hit enter and enter password 0000 "this will bring you to the sub-menu. Select 'program block' scroll down to 'system lock' and choose off.... exit and you are done.
