An isf calibration consists of the technician making changes to the TV's service menu as well as it's user menu. Someone giving you their settings requires you go to into the service menu, which as explained on the forum, is not a good idea. And those settings might not work for your TV as each TV is different. Even if you get user settings from a calibration, they probably won't work because they have to work with the new service menu settings.

The forum has many discussions on calibration and how to perform a calibration yourself. You could ask someone who performed a calibration themselves for their user settings, as long as they didn't modify the service menu settings. The user settings should be used as a reference point as those settings might not be acurate for your TV.

Going into the service menu is not recommended because if you make a mistake, you could render the TV useless. With the user menu, you can fool around with the settings and always reset them, without causing harm to the TV.

Do a search on here for the SXRD TV's. You'll find out of the box they're set up pretty well. Either it pushes green or reds a little high if I remember correctly. After that is taking care of your pretty much set unless you want to pay for the ISF calibration. Seems though with the SXRD's if you use a DVD calibration disk you can get it close enough that most people find it not worth the money for the ISF calibration on them. Though it all depends how big of a HiFi nut you are. :)
