On another forum, I've read that those that ordered in November are getting them now...

I cant beleive that it takes that long to ship those HD DVDS. They must be on back ordered or something.

If you notice...almost all FREE items from the back of cereal boxes or sending in proofs of purchase...even to get a free watch...takes anywhere from 4-10 weeks depending on what the manufacturer has set up...I personally do not feel the time it takes is out of the ordinary...

I sent mine on Nov 3 & just got the DVD's today. The good thing is that it took so long that I forgot what movies I ordered. So it's like Christmas all over.

It took about 10 weeks to get my Blu Rays. They went ahead and substituted one of my action flicks with Happy Feet :(

Got my 5 "free" HD-DVD's today in the mail finally.
Not one of them was what I ordered. :)

Sounds like the guy/gal processing your order had a hot date that night and was anxious to get off work. They probably just grabbed what was convenient to them and threw them in the box. Then again maybe Toshiba’s 65 billion yen HDDVD loss has trickled down all the way to the hourly worker and that was the day his pay got cut in half…………..Hopefully what you did get is still worth watching ;)

My guess is that their stock is/was down to the dregs... they just send what they have left. In other words.... shut up and be happy. ;)

:rofl2: You could buy them...I was just wondering if you ordered any that I did and what they were replaced with is all...

Mailed mine on 12/26/07 and still have not got anything, either!
I wonder if Toshiba gave up on some of us, now that Best Buy is doing a return thing with HD DVD players plus discs...? :(
I really want to keep my HD-A3, but if the discs don't show up by March 31st (about the leadtime others have got their discs), I may not have any choice but to sell it.
-Then the only discs I will keep will be the "combo" discs because the SD DVD side will still play on my BD players. :D

Yes... I could buy them. But, that's really not the point. The majority of the "free" choices offered were not really titles that I would want to "buy to own" anyway. No matter the price...
It's not really important. Just thought it was funny and ironic that I didn't get what I ordered.

OK, the five free Blu-ray movies arrived today. Yippee. But, still no free HD DVD's......
I wonder if Toshiba will make good on all of the requests for free movies. Has anybody received their Free HD DVD's in the last few weeks?

Nothing at all has been received since my December mail-in for the 5 free HD DVDs and that has been almost four MONTHS since then.
My guess is Toshiba decided to stop sending them altogether, finally with no notice to their customers who bought their products...sad. :(
If Toshiba doesn't send me the 5 it indicated it would from my HD-A3 purchase, then when it come time to refer a client, friend or family member to Toshiba for a purchase of any of their products, it will be a resounding...no...don't buy Toshiba, but that's my way of getting back.
Toshiba: It's like this: Many of us kept our players, you had a good product and we didn't give up on you for great high def playback...where are our HD DVDs?
Toshiba didn't go out of business, HD DVD did, but for those who sent out the mail-ins for the HD DVDs, some record must have been kept and at least a letter or coupon for a Toshiba product equivalent to the HD DVDs would have been in order.

Well, as luck would have it, my five free HD DVD's arrived in the mail today. Did not get my first choices. But, I did get five movies.
FYI, I mailed my claim form in either late Jan or sometime in Feb.

TO gparris' point, fullfilling their obligation would be the best (cheapest) thing for them to do at this time. A Customer's goodwill/loyalty is hard to get back, once it is lost.

Why not call as Splicer indicates. You need to be a bit more proactive especially now that the format has been put to rest by Toshiba. Make sure they have your rebate form on record.
It clearly states it on the rebate form if you have not received the HD DVDs by the time allotted, you may call 1-800-405-7520 to find out about your rebate offer.

Oh yeah, I called the number alright and they said they mailed my HD DVD selection out in MARCH.
Only thing is, they had the WRONG ADDRESS keyed in on the order sheet, but from what I see on my colour copy that I made of it before I mailed it:
It was extremely CLEAR as to the correct address, as if it were typed in (yes, I print that neatly). :headb:
So...I have to wait once again...until the end of MAY (five months for this)...UGH!!!

gparris- Sorry to hear about your HD DVD rebate woes

Thanks, Just Ask, I did use my Best Buy $50 gift card (for buying the HD-A3) to get one BD disc ("Gattaca") and HD DVD combo disc, "Atonement".
"Gattaca" on BD was well worth it over the DVD at $19.99 and "Atonement" was $20.99, both marked down on sale. :D
But as for the five free HD DVDs waiting time, it is taxing my patience, to say the least.
Now, with the incorrectly keyed-in address not making it me after all this time...it's just not fair, Toshiba!
-BTW, I asked for for upgraded delivery, even at some cost and they said no way...I have to wait for some time once again. :(
