Hello,
I have a Sony Grand Wega KDF-E60A20 HD TV with a maximum setting of 1080i. I receive HD TV.

When I press display on the remote it says 1080i. The resolution of the TV is 1366 x 768.

I can't figure out how to change the settings on the TV. Between 720p and 1080i. Surely there must be a way. Like there is on Upscalers, HD DVD Players, Blue Ray Players........

Any Help is Greatly Appreciated....

When you press "display" it shows you the resolution you are receiving. If you get your HD over the air most channels will say 1080i, Fox I believe will say 720p, ESPN is also 720p. Regardless of whether it is 1080i or 720p, the picture is going to be scaled to your TV's native resolution. If you are using a STB to receive your HD, there is a setting in the STB to change from 720p to 1080i. Again, it will be scaled to your TV's res anyways. Probably the only way you will ever see your TV say 720p when you press display is to hook up an external device like an HD DVD or STB unit and set it's output resolution to 720p. I highly doubt you can change this setting on the TV, though maybe I am wrong and someone with a Sony HDTV can chime in.

Hi,

I thought 1366 x 768 couldnot support 1080i. And the HD comes from a
Company called Suddenlink.

Thanks..

You can't change the native display resolution on fixed pixel displays. See:

http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=33975 TV native vs input.

http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=10220 Formats

The TV in question has a native resolution of 768P.
