199 is HDNet
198 is HDNet movies - seems to be entirely Pay Per Views

but PPV movies are also scheduled on 199

Directv does not carry HDNet-Movies. Channel 198 is strickly a PPV HD channel. Hopefully they will add it, but don't hold your breath.
Check out www.hd.net for more info on the HDNet movie channel.

Check out HDnet now. They announced a change in channel number and reveal the channel for HDnet Movies (DirecTV).

And now DirecTV is taking 199 from us - to get it you must now purchase the Hi-Def package for 10.99 per month.
Geez - you'd think they would have some freebies out there just to pique interest.

The HiDef package has 5 channels:
73 - ESPN HD
76 - Discovery HD Theater
79 - HDNet (will dissapear from 199 Sept. 1st, 2003)
81 - HDNet Movies (two, maybe three old movies per day, currently showing things like "coma" and "full metal jacket".
84 - special events
