I am looking to buy a 40W3000, but am keen to buy a TV that I can take back to Europe with me.

The manual on the Sony website states that the set will accept 110-240v, 50/60Hz.

But the European models are 220-240v only, so I am starting to doubt that claim. Could someone please confirm what it says on the back of the TV?

Many thanks

You also need to realize that this is an NTSC TV. What are you going to do regarding the PAL signals in Europe? This might not be a problem if you're going to be feeding the TV from a Set top box, depending, but also, many use SCART connectors in Europe...

Probably best if you sell it here and get something appropriate for Europe there.

Thanks for the reply.

I realise it won't be much good for receiving PAL signals, but we've exclusively used STBs for tv for years now, so that's not really an issue.
Similarly the lack of SCART is not ideal, but you can always use component (if not HDMI).

I'm buying a 2nd tv, a toshiba, which I plan to ditch when I leave, but was hoping the Sony wouldbe something I could take back
