My lcd tv has component input and no digital tuner. The instructions do not speak of hd. When I get BluRay will I get 1080p or will I stick with 720p? Would have to stand alone, my computer does 720p.

More than likely you will get 1080i/720p. Pretty much every player will only do 1080P over HDMI...not component. You won't be able to upconvert your legacy DVDs either.
More importantly, IMO, 1080p is overated and you won't see a difference on a 26" TV anyways.
