I purchased a third HDTV - Vizio VW26L. I had it hooked up to a SA 4250HDC with component cables. My new HDMI cables came this week, I switched over to the HDMI setup and everything is great, removed about 20 pounds of component wiring and replaced with the HDMI cable, BUT, I can no longer control the volume on the cable box through the cable remote?
I have an Atlas 1055 remote - it was programmed to control volume, channel, etc through the SA box. Everything works except the volume - I can only control it through the tv. I spoke to Time Warner and they don't have a clue.
Does anybody have any thoughts?
You cannot control the digital volume on the STB, only analogue. Simply reprogramme the Atlas remote to control the volume on the TV instead of the STB.
1. Input the correct code for the TV so that you can control the volume on the TV with the TV button pressed on the Atlas remote.
2. Set the "master volume" or whatever it's called in the operating manual to allow the remote to control the TV's volume instead of the STB - this will then allow you to control the TV's volume, even when the CBL button is pressed to control the STB's other functions. The instructions are in the operating manual for the remote.

You can also then programme the remote to turn the STB and the TV on/off at the same time, with one press of the power button - more instructions in the operating manual.

Well, yet again, I am humbled by your knowledge.
Straight forward, simple fix, it took me less than 1 minute with your instructions, and all is working fine.
By the way, I've been trying for two weeks - this remote will not power both the STB and this SA box. I have been able to do it with other tv's, but it just doesn't want to work with this one.
Thank you!
