Problem is a dead line on LCD screen most notable on a white, light background such as a sky/cloud picture. Is not noticible if there are darker colors. Is about 1/8 inch wide extending horizontally from the left side of the screen to about 2/3 of the screen width. This TV is 2 months old.. Called Sony today and they would either send out a refurbished set, or allow in home service. "Thats our policy" I was told. Told them, but I bought a NEW TV, not a refurbished one...Having no idea as to how old, or how many hours, or anything else about a refurb, I took a service call. Just think that resolution for a problem sucks. Anyway, was what I did a good call in your opinion? Any clue on what may be wrong? I recieved so much help here on my last HDTV problem thought I would ask again. Thanks.

I assume this is on all inputs? Here's a checklist:

R57U--thanks for helping out again.. All inputs, all resolutions, DVDs, it seems to be there. Tried to shut down TV--from Sony help--by pulling power. No help. Removed and replugged all Component cables, no help.

As this TV was only about 2 months old and has got a problem, thought I would update this thread. Sony recommended repair place came out and picked it up. Circuit City where I bought it basically said sorry, not our problem. Today I got a note from the repair place that the parts are not available to fix it, on back order. Perhaps another Sony defect in manufacturing as the optical block deal? Does anyone have an email for anyone in Sony other than the guy that tells you its not their problem?
