I've read that the C36V23 does not accept a 480i input. I only have a non-PS DVD player. I was really interested in this set but don't really want to buy another DVD player.
Any comments would be appreciated.
480i is the NTSC standard, so I don't think there is a TV available today that doesn't accept 480i. However, found no mention of 480P, so it appears to only accept 480i and 1080i, which I have seen in other TVs.
It cannot therefore accept a PS DVD player signal (480P), only interlaced. It also cannot accept a 720P signal via it's inputs, but that is quite common.

See the specs under "Jack Pack".

Thanks.
I realize I made a mistake in my original message. I did some more research and found out the same info that you provided.
This unit has mixed reviews in regards to the lack of 480p input and audio sync problems.

I have the C36V22 (presumably "last years model" of the V23?). It has the following inputs (all analog):
OTA/CATV RF input for built-in NTSC tuner
3 x composite RCA/S-Video (2 rear, 1 front) - NTSC
480i component (SD) input (can be used for non-progressive DVD)
1080i/480p component (HD) input
1080i/480p RGB (HD or VGA) input
The only odd bird among them is the 480i component input, not sure what I'd ever use this for. I did switch my DVD player to interlaced output to test the input, but have no plans to hook it up otherwise.
Also has an SD composite output which only has signal when the TV has an SD input (i.e. won't downconvert an HD signal).
