Hi, i currently have a sony lcd rptv 720p. i recently got the ps3 with bluray so want to upgrade to 1080p. unfortunatly i don't have enough coin to buy a 55" 1080p right now so i was looking at probably a 37" lcd flat panel. so far there are 3 brands that have caught my eye Sharp, Samsung and sony.
I was pritty much going to just buy the sharp seeing as the bigger sizes of the sharp 1080p tvs have very nice specs however the 37" seems very close to any of the brands.
I do more gaming then movies and more movies then tv so which tv have ppl found the best for gaming and movies...
here are a few models i found so far if you know of any more in a similar price range im open to anything right now:
Sharp Aquos 37" 1080p LCD HDTV** (LC37D64U)
Samsung 32" 1080p LCD HDTV** (LN32A550) ( would get a 37" not 32 but didnt see that option on the futureshop site)
the sony i was looking at was 720p so im sure the sony name has pushed there 1080p up above my range. anyway any help is great thanks

the onlything im really concerned about is the 6ms response time how is that going to effect gaming and fast action movies or is that pritty standard now, im not sure about his much but my computer lcd has 2ms but only 3000:1 contrast it is samsung

The difference in ms I highly doubt you'll notice visually so I don't think I'd be to concerned with it.
Friend has a nice 42" Sammy that looks great.
I guess it all depends on how much your want to spend in the end like anything in life. :)
P.S.: One thing you might want to check out is see if Sam's Club (if one in your area) still has the Sony SXRD's around. Sam's Club also has a nice 50" Panasonic Plasma for like $1650 to $1700 which is one of the nicer plasmas on the market and the 42" version for $1100 if your interested in plasma.

Plasma wont work as well for me as i play tons of video games and even though i understand they have done wonders with static images i still fear burn in and compaired to lcd i think lcd is the better way to go for gaming if im not mistaken
You may have missed the point that there are some Sony SXRDs (LCoS technology) still to be found at very good prices. Granted, they're not flat panels, but they are excellent and have been discussed often on this forum. No burn in and an unbeatable price per inch.

I am really really looking for a flat panel over anything for a few personal resons aslo i have to have 1080p that is my main deal. I just got ps3 with blu ray and i really want the 1080p option on my next tv. im really looking at samsung and sharp, however someone mentioned to me that LG is apparently really taking the lead now which is a very big shock to me.. does anyone know aobut his or could this person be mistaken at all.. i mean compair like a 37" LG LCD to a 37" samsung or sharp LCD are they even compairable because i always though lg was one of the lower end brands that ppl got because they just wanted a cheap tv... i feel i may be incorrect though

Glad you are satisfied with your purchase. My nephew has a 40" Samsung LCD HDTV that he bought about a year ago (I'm not sure what model) and he loves it.

ya im still trying to get used to the size difference, i had a 55" before but the PQ of this one is just so much better i don't even think of size generally... and i can use all those options on my ps3 now which make the games look even better, really do need the 1080p tvs to get the most out of that system.
Next purchase has to be the wall bracket and some sort of shelving for my other items, im going to update my pictures you will see what i mean hehe.
