Flat TV or ordinary TV?

Can anybody explain me what are the advantages of flat TV over an ordinary TV?

Space and technology. BT there is no 'ordinary" tv anymore CRT aka tube tvs are not made. Your choices are DLP, Plasma and LCD. All produce a great picture depending upon brand.
