A real stupid question: HDTV & 5:1 SS

With the upcoming HDTV and 5:1 SS broadcasts, in order
to get the 5:1 SS I'm assuming you need a HDTV cable box
with 5:1 output jacks, correct?

No, you need a digital box with coaxial or toslink digital audio out. An HD box is not necessary, but is necessary for HD and recommended for the most DD5.1.

There are very few SD channels that carry DD5.1. See the post in the FAQ section on what's availble in DD5.1
