I also think they did a good job with the video. I had heard there was going to be a lot of 4:3 because some of the studios didn't provide HD, but they must have received enough HD, or they "framed the image" in the "simulated monitor" so that everything looked 16:9.

I did notice that the sound was not quite right for the first 90 minutes. Instead of the voices coming out the center channel, they came out both sides, until 10PM EST, at which time it was corrected (then the voices came from all three front), but at least the center was active.

Not sure if this was the network or the station in Detroit. I thought it was the network because the rear surrounds were working properly and my receiver indicated DD5.1, just the center channel was "inactive" for the first 90 minutes...

I agree 57, Video was excellent, until 10pm or so, all I could hear is sound from front and right and no sound from my center. And my reciever also indicated that it was 5.1 DD.
I dont why that sounded like that.
The computer generated images were so clear. I was amazed to see it that clear and crisp. :D
ABC did a really good job.

The ABC telecast of the OSCAR's was EXCELLENT. I had no problems throughout the telecast. Not even one lip sync issue which always seems to be an issue with live broadcasts. Great Job ABC!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK picture, but No 5.1 in Atlanta, just ProLogic.
Did anyone here Steve Martins quip about the Oscars being shown In HD and 3 salesman at Circuit City being the only ones watching?
