hey all, I have an older panny PT51HX40 RPTV that no longer works. It is 10 years old, so i really don't want to spend a ton on repairs. Plus I just can't afford $4-500 right now.
Here is the problem,
Normally when the tv was working, you would turn it on, you would hear the sound first, then about 2 seconds later the picture would come on. Now what happens is it turns on, sound comes on, and then when the video would normally show up, the tv just shuts off.
I posted this at one of the repair sites and basically was told to bring it in. One person mentioned that the flyback transformer was probably bad. So I am wondering if anyone has had this problem? does this sound like it might be the answer? An aftermarket flyback transformer is $60 so I don't want to just start guessing.
