Sony Problem!!!!!!!!!help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told for my red archs in the background issue to turn the "R screen knob" in the front of the tv behind the speaker screen......Well this made my TV go red and NEVER turn back on now. I hope this guy did not mean to turn the "R focus knob".



I NEED HELP. REAL bad. I have no funds to buy a new tv and no funds to pay a repair man. Times are tough right now.


Please advise.

Took off the screen for the speakers and the particle board in the front to access the six knobs. Two rows of three. I turned the R screen knob as I thought I have done before to cure the faint red lines that are in the back ground of dark screens. THis time when I turned the knob the screen immediatly turned red and then shut off and then will NOT come back on right now.

I have read multiple things concerning this issure and it seems I was right turning the red screen knob. I jsut do not know what I did this time that made the screen turn red and shut the set off.

NEVER MIND out of no where it turned back on. The red lines were gone and the picture is better than ever. Insane.

I did however break my laptop and spill Vault cola on my light tan leather couch due to my reaction of the screen going red and shutting off.

You have a very common problem o with a short in the red CRT. Don't be surprised if it comes back and you will likely have to replace the CRT. Sometimes you can dislodge the short with a CRT restorer or by cranking the screen control up and tapping on the side of the neck of the tube gently, but you could also blow a part on the crt board.
