I can't find any hard facts on which builds of the Denon 3800 still have the Chroma bug. My unit was built Sept 2002, and the serial number starts with 209.
Does my unit have the bug - I see a noticeable problem with solid colors, especially red objects in animated movies

I have the new 2800MKII and it does not have the bug. I believe the new 3800 should not have the bug either I am not for sure when they started to correct the problem though. My 2800MKII was made last month and I bought it about a week or so ago. I will try and remember what web site I went to that did a review over a bunch of DVD players and the 3800 was one of them listed. They did the chroma bug test along with a bunch of other types of tests.
