Hi, I was wondering if I should get the Sony Bravia 40" KDL40W4100. I was about to get it, it is 1080P and even has a 120HZ refresh rate. It is 1599 dollars. The only problem is its response time is 8ms and I play my PS3 a lot, which Im going to play on 1080P. Im worried about problems like ghosting, blurring, slow-reaction, etc. What do you guys think? Please give me an answer by tommorrow night, thanks.

A 120HZ refresh rate should be good in terms of not having ghosting, blurring, or slow-reaction. But I hope someone else on the forum could clarify though.
Where are you planning on buying the TV? I suggest you bring your PS3 with you and have the salespeople hook it up to the TV. That way you can see first hand if you see any ghosting, blurring or slow-reaction.

120HZ rate will keep everything looking perfect.
8ms time I won't worry about much. I'm not a genius but I'm willing to bet the human eye would not notice the difference between 8ms and lets say 5ms. I say jump on it you won't be disappointed.

You are not serious, I hope. Schemes for 120Hz are like most other technologies, they vary from making the image worse to being quite good.

Considering that these specs are about as realistic and reliable as contrast ratio specs, I suggest that one actually look at the set on the kind of material that will be used for viewing and see if any lag is noticed.

I haven't seen 120HZ TV look worse because of the 120hz. But have seen test in high end HIFI stores that clearly show 120Hz being clearer/cleaner in high motion scenes vs many 60hz TV's.
On the MS thing I guess that was what I was trying to say. 8ms, 5ms, 6 ms, 4ms. Its splitting hairs to the point I doubt you could ever see the difference in a test. In other words I won't base a TV buying decession on ms.

I took back a 60hz set to get a 120hz............huge difference in sports and other high motion scenes,if I didn't find a 120hz set I was about to switch to plasma
I suppose you believe that 1080p is a gimmick also
