So I have around $1000 to spend on a new TV, give or take. I have been looking mostly at rear projection because of the size and the price. However, I am worried about the refresh rates with the gaming.

1080p is also something I would like with the TV I choose. There have been some deals on the Panasonic with the LiFi bulb that has a 5 year warranty. Also, there is a Samsung from Circuit City that is $1000 that does 1080p.

I haven't ruled out LCD or Plasma however I have room for a bigger TV and I would like a bigger screen. So if anyone has any ideas on a good TV for the price I am up for any help.

Also, I have a room that can be very dark and I will sit about 8-10 feet away. The viewing angles are not a big deal for me since I will have one main couch right at the TV and then a few seats just around it. I plan on having a receiver that upconverts to 1080i its a Onkyo TX-SR605 so I would also like it to have HDMI.

This is a link to the TV I am looking at.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Any 1080p DLP would give you the 50 inch or bigger size you would want. I like Samsung personally for DLP.

Yeah, DLPs are nice but I was also considering the Sony SXRD screens or maybe a LCD screen. I think I am going to stick with the rear projection though, as long as it will look good with the PS3 and Xbox 360.

DLP is rear projection. Very few if any LCDs are rear projection anymore. LCD is flatpanel.

Now the TV on craigslist looks pretty nice for a grand.

Thanks, I think I will pick up the Panasonic. Has anyone seen this TV or knows how it looks with fast motion or with video games?

I looked up reviews on this TV. You need to make sure they are not selling because of the on/off problem.

What kind of problem is that? I looked at some reviews but didn't find anyone saying anything about that.
