TV Converter Boxes???

Isn't there any info on tv converter boxes on this site? I can't find anything on it.

What's the better boxes?

Is the Magnavox at Sams any good?

Where do you get the echostar one?

Is this the best one?

If you're inquiring about CECB's (Coupon Eligible Converter Box), there's really not a big issue/choice. Non are HD capable.

If I'm off base in my asssumptions, can you provide more specifics around what exactly you desire?

Just looking to get the best one, unless of course, they are all basically the same. I do still have one old tube t.v. up in the bedroom which I use a rabbit ears to pull down local analogs. I use Phillips amplified antennas on the two HD tv's to pull down local digitals. So, now I need a converter box to continue pulling down locals on the old tube. Does it matter which box I go with? On the net I see a lot about "wait for the echostar model to come out!". Not sure where to get that model. Radio Shack claims to have the best one and says the RCA and Magnavox models at Wally World are crap. so just any help would be appreciated. Probably the wrong site though, huh?

I just ordered mine - Tivax STB-8, from Meritline.com. I did a lot of searching and this one is supposed to have a picture approaching DVD quality and pretty decent sound. Meritline had the best price, free shipping, and takes the coupons, I'll post a followup after I receive them.

I did some research before buying, and also took a peak at what my other family members purchased.. The nicest one I've read about and used was the Zenith 910. I picked up two of them with my coupons at HHGREGG. It has imo the best menu's and real easy setup, nice remote, plus pass through for stations that don't come in digital yet (like fox here in Fort Wayne).

I guess the Insignia box is identical to the Zenith so I'd say either one would be good.
