I need some thoughts on where to go next with my attempt at self repair.
My 52525 has been acting up for a couple months now. At first the symptoms were horizontal lines or purple vertical bands that would come and go over a period of an hour or so every time I used the tv. Based on info from this and other sites, I opened up my set and found some obviously bad 1000uF caps (Jamicon brand, of course). I ordered some and replaced every one of the 1000uF caps on the 4 boards in the chassis. I did have a little trouble getting good solder connections on a few pins, but I'm pretty sure I eventually got the solder to bond to both pin and pad on all of them.
That, unfortunately did not seem to fix all my problems. I'm getting similar, but not identical symptoms now. Horizontal lines that vary in size and color by time. Sometimes they're very small and black, other times they're broad and purple.
Some additional data points that might help narrow my focus:
1)The lines do not appear on the antenna input.
2) The lines appear on all other inputs/devices (I'm primarily using INP-DTV and MONLINK, but it shows up on all that I've tested).
3) The lines only appear on the main input/device. They do NOT appear on the PIP device. Switching inputs with the EXCH button on my remote keeps the lines on the main screen and not on the PIP portion of the screen.
4) If the lines are on the screen and I bring up any menu, the lines do not seem to appear in the area of the menu.
