Hello, I was wondering if anyone has the Panasonic TH42PZ80U 42" Plasma HDTV? I currently have a 32" Sony Bravia HDTV, but want a larger TV. I guess we sit about 8 - 10 feet from the tv now, so I want to know the following:

1) How is the Panasonic in terms of picture quality and sound quality.
2) Is the 42" size correct for my viewing or should I purchase a larger TV, possibly a larger version of the Panny I'm looking at.

Thanks in advance.

At 8-10', you could probably go for a 50". The Panasonic Plasmas have excellent picture quality, especially when set up properly:

Not 42" but I have a 46PZ80U and it's great so far. If you're willing to spend a couple more hundred dollars, I'd recommend it.

You can get full 1080p resolution with Panasonic TH42PZ80U with a native contrast ratio of 20,000:1 for crisp, detailed imagery. the best feature is its anti-reflective filter that allows viewing in rooms with abundant ambient light.
