I was reading up at a UK Audio/Video forum (don't ask me why!) and I saw they have an entire topic section devoted to "Do It Yourself" home audio/video.
Any of you folks toyed around with building your own loudspeakers/subwoofers and the like? I got a bit of interest reading their threads on that UK forum, however all the websites they reccomend obviously sell to the UK. Know of any good DIY retailers in the US?
Type "DIY subwoofers" into a web search engine - lots of hits. Probably the same for "DIY - blankity blank"

www.partsexpress.com has DIY kits.
http://www.rutledgeaudiodesign.com/ makes custom audio systems.

Thanks to the both of ya.
I guess specifically I was just looking to see if any of the HDTVoice regulars have had experience with DIY speakers...to get some positive/negative feedback on certain companies/websites.

Sorry it took me so long to notice this thread... but I wholeheartedly embrace the DIY home audio concept!

I've said it before: If you're halfway handy with woodworking or know someone who is... DIY is the way to go.
Once you realize the markup on retail speakers and how poorly most of them are constructed... you'll never go back.
Not only do you get more audio value for your dollar, but you also get the awesome ego-stroke telling your friends "Oh those speakers? I built those." :)
