Also looking to get feeback on the Pioneer Elite series. Just got introduced to the Elite series and like what I heard, but am leaning towards the Onkyo brand because that's what I already have. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

The past Elite series products I have had includeing DVD and receivers have been wonerdful. This last time though I decided to try something defferent for a change and bought my Sony receiver and Denon DVD player which I wouldn't tried either of them for the world, ( Well unless I could afford something from Mark Levinson or Proceed.) :) The VSX 47 or 49TX are wonderful pieces if you are wanting to try the Elite series or even the beginning line Elite series are pretty good if you don't want to spend that much for their top models. Usually you can get a Elite receiver for starting around $600.00 maybe a little lower, but if you can do the 49TX that would be the ideal one. The very first Elite piece I bought was I think 4 or 5 years ago maybe longer but it is when they came out with their first THX receiver it was the VSX-07TX. It was awsome. I lived in the country at that time and was broken into and it was stolen. :(
