There is a click sound that appears to be coming from the back of my set. It will vary in loudness and in frequency. At first I thought it would occur about 15-20 minutes into view the TV and then stop after a while, but now it appears to be just happening all the time, and will even continue after the TV is off for a period of time as well. I think it might be because of the frame heating up, but it is very annoying, distracting, and can be heard over the sound of the TV. If anyone else is having this problem or knows of a solution please let me know. I have called Panasonic and they have sent service men out twice even though the service men will just tell me there is nothing they can do because they have never encountered a problem like this.

I am getting the same weird noise also....it's just a c******* noise. I am also getting this weird echo or murmur. I have a panny 46" TH-C42FD18 and it's brand new. I also had a panny 42 TH-C42FD18 and the same echo or murmur was coming from the TV also. Newbie needing help please!

You are correct this click sound is due to the heating of the plastic back of the panel. There is a "felt kit" fix for this problem that Panasonic is aware of. Also if you do a Google search you will find this problem is not that unusual.
