Hello!
After months of research and getting close to almost choosing either/or Samsung PN50A550 (#1 spot in Consumer Reports Oct magazine) and Panasonic TH-50PZ800U (#1 on cnet) I have finally decided on the latter. Now the question is price. I would have preferred to buy from a big-box retailer like Circuit City (has it for $2,200) but after reading great reviews of Amazon.com have finally made me comfortable with the idea of buying it from the Internet. The cheapest price is probably with Abes of Maine as they throw in (and out) a free flat wall mount, however, I'd rather pay a little extra to Amazon which at $1,889 is the cheapest price I have seen. Should I take the plunge and buy it at this price today or wait until after Christmas to see if it comes down? I was hoping that the price would come down on Black Friday but to my surprise most retailers jacked it UP on that day. With so much variability in the TV price (it is not quite tomatoes and potatoes but still the prices can be variable from week to week or even next day) I am still not able to decide if I should wait or when is the right time to buy? I am in no hurry but it will be stupid to wait forever...as the price of technology keeps coming down not go up!
