SORRY HAD TO POST THIS HERE BUT IM WAYYYY STOKED ABOUT THIS.........
EVERYBODY GO GET THE NEW MetallicA ALBUM ITS OUT AND COMES WITH A FREE DVD OF THEM PLAYING ALL THEIR NEW SONGS IN THE STUDIO...........
ITS KICKS ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.................
heard the DVD is very good quality pic and sound........kinda related to hdtv:D

is it in DVD-A and when do they go on tour? (might be broadcasted in HD so still related :)
Love metallica - waiting for Ozzfest here - Korn, Disturbed - good stuff :)

no its not in DVD-A i think its DD5.1 because again its just not Audio its them in the studio being filmed and playing all the new songs, and the CD is packaged with it..............

take the CD and throw it out. it's WAY overproduced vocally, and you can hardly here the music. Also on the cd hetfield tries to "sing" too much in spots it seems. on the other hand...
the live DVD ROCKS!!!!! it's in 5.1 dd, not dvd audio, though it sounded good through the multichannel output too. the sound is much more bassy and gritty. now THAT'S the metallica i know!!!!!
Overall this is a sweet album. Load and Re-load bon voyage.
They are touring this summer with mudvayne, limp bizkit, deftones, and others, but it's expensive. something like $80-$90. Still, they kick ass in concert, so it's probably worth it.

Ive already got my tickets for the Dallas show on Aug. 3rd...
And yeah your right I think I like the DVD maybe a little better....
BUT THE ALBUM KICKS ASSSSS ive listened to it 3 times now.... got it last night....

Hetfield needs to go back on the sauce. I love Metallica just as much as the next guy but this new album sucks, sucks major asshole.

I agree totally. First off, I've only heard 3 songs on the radio, so I can't pass judgement on the whole CD. When I heard these songs all I could think was "What the hell were they thinking?". I'll take the older stuff anyday over this stuff. I'm not starting a flame was, it's just my opinion.

Ok, let me elaborate on "sucks major asshole".
First things first, WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE QUALITY OF THE RECORDING?! What possesed these guys to skip the mastering process of their album. Lars' snare sounds like a bell, you can't even HEAR his toms OR his kick. NO metal buff can tell me they don't mind not being able to hear the drums. The guitars sound alright, they've sounded better but I can live with this. And Mr. Hetfield, he's notorious for writing his vocals minutes before laying them down in the studio, and this seems like the case here, with one exception, they suck. He pulled it off with previous albums, (i think all the vocals for the black album were written on a napkin), but this time his newly sober mind has come up short, wayyyy short. OK, I'm done. Metallica died after Justice for All. And no, not because they cut their hair. That was long overdue anyway, skids.

I'm sure it goes without saying, well I hope it does, that this is only my opinion. I am by no means cutting down mikehbkwm, so no wars. :D
