Can someone please post the settings in the serivce menu they have for 1080 and 480? I have been trying to get the geometry fixed on mine, but though close am still not happy and would like to look at someone else's settings who fixed it for comparison.

Also does anyone know if bad geometry is fixed under warranty? i.e. can I call samsung and have them come out and fix it?

on my TXN3298 mine is all screwy too (through the component inputs). the screen is wavy and fluid (the sides bend in and out). is that your problem too? i called on friday and samsung is supposed to call me today or tomorrow. i will update after i talk to them.

Yes I see that as well as a bow inward. and 1080i too tall, so for example the espn hd ticker get's chopped off the bottom.

in the service menu, there's an adjustment called "H EW" in the 1080i offset(and assuming it happens on dvd's too you'd have to adjust it in the 480p offset). you can only change each based on the source you are watching. example: if you have a progressive scan dvd on, it will let you adjust the 480p offset, but none of the other ones, and so on. changing that adjusted my problem, but there was still some warping detected (not nearly as much), but when i adjusted it i see a faint line come onto the screen, which annoys me too, so i am gonna put it all back to it's original position and see what samsung has to say. maybe you could call them too (1-800-samsung) so whoever gets an answer first can let the other one know what the solution is.

pay close attention to what he does and let me know. samsung hates me as this TV is a replacement for a faulty TXM model. if i keep caling them, they're gonna have the next tech plant a bomb in my TV!

Hi

I'm just curious where you guys bought your TXN3098WHF. I've decided to buy it because of it's low cost, VID, and HDCP but I've only found it avalible through 3 merchants on pricegrabber. Do any B&M stores have this yet or am I out of luck unless I order it off of the net?

Thanks

I got my TXN3098WHF from Sear for $850 before tax. How do you get Samsung to come out and fix your picture? I'm getting that bowing effect on some programs on nbc and abc, especially when the HD program has those black side bars.

Thanks

just call samsung, tell them the problem. they will most likely tell YOU to call an authorized service person in your area, and give you some names/#'s. mine is now out for service, so you might lose it for a little bit.

They came out and basically left clueless. They said they think it is a factory problem. Not sure what I can expect, I had to call samsung and get a service manual sent to them because they couldn't get one on their own. According to them and whoever they talked to at samsung the model doesn't even exist.

Now they have to call samsung and wait to hear what they say.

the tech who came to my house saw the problem and took the TV. the techs at the store said "we don't see a problem". bull@$%. i am so mad. i have had nothing but headache with samsung. i mean the customer service people TRY to help, and are nice, but the 2 tv's i've had have been a nightmare. well, i'm a beaten man. that's ok, i LOVE droppin $1300 for nothin, no problem.

Luckily samsung has offices not overfar from me (around an hour). So I may demand that someone who knows what they are doing from samsung actually come out...

Are you sure it wasn't the TXM30098WHF for $850 from Sears? The lowest price for the TXN version I've found was from pac-2000 at $999. I've been able to find the TXM version for less. BTW, Sears wasn't able to purchase either of them for me. The only one they could get in the 30" widescreen was the TXN3071WHF for $999!
