Hi. I recently bought my first widescreen RPTV - Hitachi 43FWX20B. My only inputs are a DirectTV (non-HD) Tivo Rx, and Sony DVD. PQ with the DVD is outstanding, but the DTV channels are not quite what I was hoping for. I am still adjusting to the set, AVIA disk on the way. But I've followed advice read here and am using Movie mode with all advanced options turned off, and the contrast, brightness, etc. all under 40. My question is what is the best thing to do as far as receiving HD channels. Which STB? Should it be a DirectTV model or Terrestrial model? I can't live without TIVO so I don't want to get rid of that. And I won't go back to cable (digital or otherwise). What is the best setup? Thanks in advance for any recommendations/advice.

I remember when I first got our Ultimate TV DVR. My wife was so upset w/me for making another electronics purchase. Since that purchase 3 yrs ago, we've upgraded to the HD world. When I first discussed upgrading w/ the wife, she was adamant that she better not lose her, yes her, Ultimate TV box. First, I had to upgrade my dish to the Directv triple LNB with built-in 4x4 multi- switch. That gave me 4 DTV lines to connect. You can get more info on that by visiting DTV's web site and scrolling to the bottom of the following page:
http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/imagine/HDTV.jsp
So currently I have the Hughes E86 HD set-top box for Directv and OTA HDTV which goes into my Toshiba's RGB or componet input1. I have a Terk55 rooftop antenna for free HD locals. I have two lines connected to my Ultimate TV box connected to the tv via composite (RCA) inputs and S-Video through my Mitsubishi SVHS VCR. The fourth Directv drop goes to the bedroom STB.
Hope this is helpful!

Thanks for the response. I already have the Triple LNB dish! I'll look into the Hughes HD Rx you mentioned. Sounds like a good way to go.
